The Norwegian and Swedish courses started

The Norwegian and Swedish courses started over a week ago in Warsaw, Poland. The doctors arrived from 6 different countries in Europe: Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, and Romania. They all had online lessons before coming to Paragona campus, and now they are taking intensive language course to be able to start working in Scandinavian hospitals in about three months.

Paragona Group Annual Meeting

On December 16th the whole Paragona Group was celebrating the Holiday Season at the Annual Meeting; it was held near Warsaw, Poland. We had visitors from Denmark, Romania and Sweden. One of the main attractions was a horse carriage ride with the flaming torches in the countryside surroundings. Despite low temperatures, everyone seemed to enjoy.

Santa Claus Day

Yesterday Santa Claus visited Paragona Group team in the main office in Warsaw.

Everyone received more or less useful and interesting gifts. They loved the surprises.

Paragona in Budapest

We just came back from 3 days in Budapest. We were attending the Career Days where we met many doctors who were interested in hearing about job opportunities in Scandinavia, Germany and France.

We also had a mapping day, where we had invited 25 doctors to our mobile assessment center. We told about current offers and assessed all candidates from different perspectives, to match the hospital’s expectations and requirements.

One of our new colleagues came from Stockholm to experience the days and she tells us here her impression of the mapping day.

Vilda fåglar / wild birds

A look and listen into the Swedish classrooom last week. After 4 weeks of intensive training, they are now watching real Swedish TV news as part of the training.

The exercise is to watch, listen and then give a brief, general summary of the news clip. The news clip on the sound file is about vilda fåglar.

We received this picture from a doctor who recently went to work in Norway. She writes that all is good, but there are many new and different things. The nature is fantastic, the organization of the healthcare is quite different, and the early autumn is a bit depressing. She needs time to adjust to everything from language to mentality and culture, and she expects some tough months, but also exciting months. All in all she is in a good mood.

Our language courses are intense

Our language courses are intense, with a quick progress, and the end-goal is of course crucial: To work as a fully functional doctor in a Scandinavian hospital. So it’s important that the doctors on our courses can learn a language within our training model.

This is a short glimpse from our screening process that includes a trial lesson: A doctor is learning basic Danish for 2 hours. In the soundclip you hear the beginning of the lesson.

The Swedish course started
