Asia, doctor on the Danish course

For me it’s hard to believe, but I have only been here for 5 weeks now. I came with my boyfriend, we are going together to Aalborg in Denmark. For a long time we wanted to go to Scandinavia, I have family in Sweden, and I visited them often.

We are living together with another from the course, and we live 3 minutes from the school.

I have never in my life studied so hard, but I am satisfied with myself.

Last two weeks were pretty intense. The course goes really well, and the students amaze us all the time – they are so clever.
Last week we had a test only with listening and speaking part. The sudents were talking about a book we read in the classes – and they are able to talk about the book for about 10 minutes with absolutely no problems! It’s pretty impressive 🙂 The course is hard work, and that is why we try to entertain our students from time to time – last tuesday we went to see a Danish movie at Doc Film Festival and this weekend they are going to see another movie on Sunday. Hope it’ll help them to relax before next week 🙂

At campus we had the first test with the Norwegian group – in their second week. We were testing what they learned from the online program before they came here – and they showed all in all good results. I was in on the test, and with my Danish/Norwegian I spoke with them about simple things. Promising start, and I am looking forward to follow them.

Last week I was in Budapest with my colleagues for the first mapping of Hungarian doctors to Scandinavia. They came to Budapest for one day to be interviewed, hear about Scandinavia and have Swedish lessons. It was all very positive, and we met some good candidates. In the language lessons we were assessing whether they would be able to learn a new language in a short, intensive time – this is not easy, and not everybody has this ability. So it’s important for all – the hospitals, us, the doctors themselves that we have these lessons as part of the process to find the right candidates.

Budapest is an interesting and beautiful city – luckily we had some time to walk a little and in the evening we had dinner at a fantastic street called Franz Liszt.

Just came back from 2 days in Budapest. Very nice city. We were meeting Hungarian doctors interested in going to Scandinavia to work, and we had interviews with them and Swedish lessons to see how they were able to learn. It all went well, and now I am back in Warszawa with the Danish and Norwegian group and excited to see how much they learned since I went away.
